What Is Microchanneling?

Botox & Co. is proud to offer ProCell™ MD microchanneling, a treatment that punctures little holes in the skin on your face, neck, or chest to stimulate skin restoration. As an additional benefit, your platelet-rich plasma (PRP) may be applied to the same area to further help cells heal and enable the skin to begin growing new cells. Together, these two treatments can reduce the appearance of scars, fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots, large pores, and other skin problems. The surface of your skin can be significantly enhanced to appear smoother and more even without damaging the epidermis. If you want to learn more about the ProCell MD microchanneling procedure, schedule a consultation with our skin care team in Springfield, MO.

How Does Microchanneling Work?

Prior to the microchanneling portion of your treatment, a member of our medical staff will draw your blood for your PRP collection. The drawn blood will then be transferred to our lab for the separation process, during which the platelets, growth factors, and stem cells can be condensed into PRP. For microchanneling therapy, Botox & Co. uses innovative technology to make tiny holes in your skin. The small needles won't harm your skin but will instead help stimulate the creation of collagen. When the microchanneling is finished, the PRP serum will be put on the skin to sink in. Once the PRP is fully absorbed, we'll remove the serum and clean the skin.

About Us
Can microchanneling be combined with other treatments?

Microchanneling at Botox & Co. is a versatile procedure that can be integrated with other treatments. However, it's crucial to consult with our skincare experts to determine the best combination for your skin type and concerns. Certain treatments, like light chemical peels or hydrating facials, may complement microchanneling, enhancing the overall results. Our team will provide personalized recommendations to ensure your skin receives the maximum benefits without overstimulation.

Is there any downtime associated with microchanneling?

Downtime after a microchanneling session is minimal. Most clients at Botox & Co. experience only mild redness and sensitivity post-treatment, which typically subsides within a few hours to a day. Unlike more invasive procedures, microchanneling allows you to return to your daily activities almost immediately. However, it's advised to avoid direct sun exposure and rigorous activities for a short period post-treatment to ensure optimal healing and results.

How many microchanneling sessions are needed for visible results?

The number of microchanneling sessions needed varies depending on individual skin concerns and desired outcomes. At Botox & Co., we usually recommend a series of treatments for more significant skin rejuvenation. While some clients may notice improvements after a single session, optimal results are often seen after a course of 3-5 treatments spaced about 4-6 weeks apart. Our team will tailor a treatment plan to meet your specific needs and goals, ensuring a progressive improvement in skin texture and appearance.
