What are Chemical Peels?

For the highest quality results from chemical peel treatments, Botox & Co. provides you with multiple options. Your customized chemical peel with exfoliating solutions (such as glycolic, salicylic, trichloroacetic, and lactic acids) will reveal more radiant skin. At our Springfield, MO office, our professional team offers advanced chemical peel treatments that remove skin abnormalities, including fine lines, wrinkles, scars, rough patches, hyperpigmentation issues, and more. Chemical peels remove damaged, dead skin cells by using a customized peel on the skin, which causes the top layer to peel off. When your skin heals and begins to repair and rejuvenate itself, you will notice a smoother, clearer complexion. A chemical peel is a nonsurgical technique to brighten your skin and may be used for the face, neck, and décollatage.

How Do Chemical Peels Work?

On the day of your procedure at Botox & Co., we will have you lying down in a relaxed position to administer your peel. We will ensure the skin is clean before applying the personalized solution to your face and/or neck. We will spread the solution onto your face and allow it to work for an appropriate length of time, which will be discussed in your chemical peel consultation. Next, we will clean the peel off your face and apply a neutralizing agent. To avoid UV exposure, patients should bring sunscreen and a hat to wear outside after the peel.

Highly recommend Alison P. for all of your facial needs. I always leave feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and feeling like a million bucks. The skincare products she uses are amazing and of high quality, her room is the epitome of what a spa experience should look, sound, feel, and smell like and I absolutely look forward to coming back every time for ME time. She is professional and definitely knows what she is doing. I will be turning 0 years young at the end of this month and people always ask what I do and I give all the credit to Alison and her facials and a little bit of genetics too of course. Go see her, you won't be disappointed!

About Us
How much does a chemical peel cost?

Once your chemical peel treatment plan has been developed, we can review your costs. The cost of a chemical peel will vary based on the intensity you get. Botox & Co. accepts several payment methods, and we often run specials on treatments like chemical peels. Buying a package with several chemical peel treatments can also help you save money.

What level should I choose for my chemical peel?

The best chemical peel for you will vary based on your specific skin issues and aesthetic goals. In your initial consultation, we can help you decide which formula is best for your skin. Some factors you might consider are your overall health, your skin type, how deep you want the peel to work, how long you can spend in recovery, and what you want the peel to accomplish. Initially, it may be better to select a lighter peel and decide what you think of the results. After this, we may alter your treatment plan to choose the best type of peel for you.

Will my face hurt after a chemical peel?

You might have mild discomfort during the application process, depending on the chemicals used. If you get a light peel, you will probably notice some discomfort; however, it can be alleviated with a handheld fan. Deep or medium peels are good for deeper skin issues and offer results that last a long time; however, they usually are more uncomfortable. Topical anesthetics, skin medications, and soothing ointments may be applied to minimize your discomfort during the treatment. We will explain how to care for your skin after a peel to help your skin heal.

Can I combine a chemical peel with other treatments?

A chemical peel may be combined with another skin treatment. During your consultation, be open about your skin problems so we can create a comprehensive treatment plan to best address your goals. Your plan may include an injectable treatment for wrinkles plus a chemical peel to refresh your whole face.
